After losing to New Brighton the last time they met, South Side decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rams walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Lions on Thursday. The game was the first time the Rams have beaten the Lions on their field since March 29, 2021.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Corfield, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Hudson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The win made it two in a row for South Side and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for New Brighton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, South Side will welcome Springdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Brighton, they will venture away from home to challenge Aliquippa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Quips have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.25 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
