Recap: Coolidge Bears vs. San Tan Foothills Sabercats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Window Rock, the Coolidge Bears were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They breezed by San Tan Foothills at home to the tune of 59-14. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Coolidge has managed all season.

Coolidge found their leader in underclassman Alaysia White, who dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 18 rebounds, and 11 steals. The contest was White's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amaira Miguel, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten steals.

Even though they lost, San Tan Foothills were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coolidge only pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.

Coolidge's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for San Tan Foothills, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coolidge will take on Florence at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Florence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Saturday. San Tan Foothills won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Miami at 5:30 p.m. on January 4th. Miami is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64 points per game.
