Softball Recap: Victoria East Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fort Bend Marshall last Friday, Victoria East came back down to earth. The Titans fell just short of the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-2 back in March.

With the loss, Victoria East broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-15. As for Lamar Consolidated, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3.

Victoria East and Lamar Consolidated should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Titans (ranked 501st) will meet Fort Bend Kempner (ranked 1004th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lamar Consolidated will take on Victoria West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (155 vs. 496).
