Volleyball Recap: Carrollton Has No Trouble Against Holden

Carrollton's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Holden Eagles 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

While Carrollton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 27-25, 25-11.

Sarah Ratliff paced Carrollton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Ratliff got some help from Kinsey Fisher and her 27 assists. Jenna Owen controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Carrollton's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Holden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's still a better percentage than their 2-8-1 record this season.

Carrollton has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Lafayette County on the 23rd. As for Holden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Concordia on the 20th.
