Baseball Game Preview: Vanlue Wildcats vs. Riverdale Falcons

Vanlue hasn't had much luck against Riverdale recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will head out to take on the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Vanlue has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Vanlue couldn't beat Bucyrus on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Wildcats came up short against the Redmen, falling 15-4.

Meanwhile, Riverdale lost 12-2 to McComb on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Falcons have suffered against the Panthers since April 17, 2017.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Vanlue, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.

Vanlue suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Riverdale when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
