For the first time this season, Windermere will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Olympia Titans at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Windermere comes in on seven and Olympia on three.
Windermere proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Timber Creek 4-2.
Oscar Fernandez looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dublin Warren, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Joey Waddingham, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Olympia earned an 8-5 victory over Lake Nona on Friday.
Brendan Furey tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Matt Logan was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Mac Colavecchio, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Windermere's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Olympia, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Windermere beat Olympia 6-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Does Windermere have another victory up their sleeve, or will Olympia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
