Baseball Recap: Sheldon Takes a Loss

Sheldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 21-1 to the Franklin Wildcats. The Huskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Javier Avalos was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Sheldon: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-7 otherwise. Nathan Nguyen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Sheldon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Franklin, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

While Sheldon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
