Basketball Recap: Christian Community's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

If Horizon Science Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Christian Community, they should've done a better job of containing Anna Blumfeldt. The Christian Community Warriors claimed a resounding 49-14 victory over Horizon Science Academy thanks in part to Blumfeldt, who went 9 of 12 en route to 20 points and five steals. Christian Community is 6-2 when Blumfeldt posts three or more steals, but 5-6 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Ella Szunyog, who posted ten points. Those ten points gave her a new career-high.

The win (which was Christian Community's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-8. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points per game. As for Horizon Science Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian Community will welcome Lake Center Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Horizon Science Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westside Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on February 18th.
