Softball Recap: Shenandoah Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Shenandoah ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Tri Titans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since April 25, 2024.

Olivia Watson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gabrielle Patrick, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Shenandoah's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Tri, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shenandoah will host Daleville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Tri, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against South Decatur at 5:30 p.m. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.14 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
