Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Academy's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Northland Christian last Tuesday, Heritage Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Heritage Christian Academy Chargers fell to the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks 66-60. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 73-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Heritage Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Chambers, who posted 16 points along with five assists and four steals. With that strong performance, Chambers is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Landon Pittman, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 18 points and six boards.

Bishop Seabury Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marion Stubbs out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 20 rebounds. Stubbs is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jace Smith was another key player, going 6 of 12 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

With the loss, Heritage Christian Academy broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian Academy will face off against Barstow at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.1 points per game this season. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, they will challenge Faith Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
