Recap: Sulphur Bluff Bears vs. Yantis Owls
The Sulphur Bluff Bears won the last time they faced the Yantis Owls, and things went their way on Friday too. Sulphur Bluff took down Yantis 58-44. Sulphur Bluff pushed the score to 47-26 by the end of the third, a deficit Yantis cut but never quite recovered from.
Dakota Klemptner was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Matthew Overly was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Sulphur Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. As for Yantis, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Sulphur Bluff will head out on the road to take on Avery at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avery is on a three-game streak of home wins, Sulphur Bluff a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Yantis will take on Saltillo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saltillo is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
