Baseball Recap: Shakopee Drops Highest Score of Season Against Eagan

Shakopee has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.05 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came out on top against the Eagan Wildcats by a score of 17-12. The Sabers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Shakopee, bringing their record up to 16-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Eagan, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Shakopee will take on rival Lakeville South at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sabers 3.1, the Cougars 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Eagan is set to square off against their familiar foe Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
