East Lincoln actually scored more points across those five sets (107-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 15-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-12.
East Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carly Puckett, who had six digs, three aces, and two kills. Puckett is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in the last 11 games she's played. Mya Thornton was another key player, getting 11 digs and three aces.
Even though they lost, East Lincoln was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
East Lincoln now has a losing record at 13-14. As for West Rowan, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11.
