Basketball Recap: Harrison Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Harrison had won five straight games and Malachi King did his part to make it six on Saturday. The Harrison Raiders were the clear victor by an 82-62 margin over the Merrillville Pirates thanks in part to King, who went 12 for 16 en route to 27 points along with five assists and five boards. The match was his eighth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Carson Cain, who posted four points and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Harrison has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Merrillville, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison has already played their next contest (against Mt. Vernon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Merrillville has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Valparaiso.
