Basketball Recap: Ephrata Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Ephrata took on Toppenish on Friday. The Ephrata Tigers took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Toppenish Wildcats. The Tigers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Jason Sanchez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten boards for Toppenish. Sanchez continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Anthony Cisneros was another key player, putting up seven points.

Ephrata's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Toppenish, they moved to 4-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Ephrata will host Prosser at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Toppenish, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-37 win against Othello on the 11th.
