Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Has No Trouble Against Lifegate Christian

First Baptist Academy's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Lifegate Christian Falcons 68-46. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Timothy De La Rosa, who went 11 for 25 on his way to 33 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of First Baptist Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Levine, who posted 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

De La Rosa wasn't the only one working in the assists department: First Baptist Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lifegate Christian only racked up seven assists.

When it comes to explaining why Lifegate Christian lost, don't look at Noah Perez. Despite the final result, he had 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Perez a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was DaGionne Padelford, who put up ten points and seven boards.

The victory got First Baptist Academy back to even at 10-10. As for Lifegate Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

First Baptist Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-35 win against Austin Classical on the 2nd. As for Lifegate Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-52 defeat against Calvary Chapel Christian Academy on the 7th.
