Basketball Game Preview: Holy Cross Knights vs. Marcellus Mustangs

The Holy Cross Knights and the Marcellus Mustangs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Monday without much rest having both just played. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Holy Cross saw some tournament action on Sunday. They blew past Christian Brothers Academy 72-51. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Meanwhile, Marcellus came tearing into Sunday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 64-59 W over the Wildcats.

Marcellus' win came from a few key players Holy Cross will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tucker Burnett, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 20 points in addition to six assists and five boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Dom Gosh-Sandy, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Marcellus pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Holy Cross, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
