Softball Game Preview: Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Faith Christian Patriots

The Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders are taking a road trip to challenge the Faith Christian Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Harrells Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Harrells Christian Academy came up short against Rocky Mount Academy and fell 11-7. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by exactly four runs.

Breelyn Peed was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mary Willow Rumbold made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI. That hit was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to John Paul II Catholic by a score of 16-13.

Faith Christian got a massive performance out of Abby Bradley, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI. The dominant performance gave Bradley a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Skylar Powers, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Harrells Christian Academy's record now sits at 1-3. As for Faith Christian, their record now sits at 4-4.

Everything went Harrells Christian Academy's way against Faith Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Harrells Christian Academy made off with a 12-4 win.
