Soccer Game Preview: Creighton Prep vs. Lincoln East

The Creighton Prep Junior Jays will venture away from home to square off against the Lincoln East Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Creighton Prep is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Last Thursday, Creighton Prep earned a 4-2 win over Omaha Westside. The game got a bit rough at times, as the refs handed out a total of four yellow cards before it was all over.

Creighton Prep hit Omaha Westside with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jordan Igwenma (2), Louis Tokporo, and Jacob Szatko.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln East). Their defense stepped up to hand Lincoln High a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for Lincoln East in their matchups with Lincoln High: they've now won nine in a row.

Creighton Prep pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matches. As for Lincoln East, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Creighton Prep beat Lincoln East 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Do the Junior Jays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
