Basketball Recap: Booker Skates Past Gibbs with Ease

It's playoff time, and Booker had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the Gibbs Gladiators to the tune of 71-27 on Thursday. The Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Leading Booker to victory were Marayah Stuart and Jsiyah Taylor. Stuart went 6-for-10 on her way to 16 points along with six steals and five boards, while Taylor went 6-for-8 en route to 13 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. Those eight assists gave Taylor a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Guy, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Booker is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points over those games. As for Gibbs, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-15.

Coming up, Booker will welcome Chamberlain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Booker knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Chamberlain likes a good challenge. Gibbs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
