Basketball Recap: Travelers Rest Comes Up Short

Travelers Rest was the 61-47 winner over Pickens when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Devildogs were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 39-38 to the Blue Flame.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pickens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooks Dow, who shot 60% from the field en route to 20 points and seven boards. The matchup was Dow's third in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Lane Respass, who posted eight points and three steals.

Travelers Rest's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pickens, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Travelers Rest will challenge Crescent at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pickens, they are taking a road trip to face off against Liberty at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
