Basketball Game Preview: Severna Park Falcons vs. South River Seahawks

Severna Park and South River are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Severna Park Falcons will be playing at home against the South River Seahawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Severna Park will be strutting in after a win while South River will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, Severna Park sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 victory over Meade. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted against the Mustangs since February 27, 2018.

Meanwhile, South River came up short against McDonogh on Saturday and fell 52-45. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Eagles are ranked 35th).

South River's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Severna Park, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Severna Park didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South River in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. Does Severna Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will South River turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
