West gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Kennedy Thunderbirds. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, West will head out on the road to square off against Wasco at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kennedy, they will face off against East Bakersfield at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
