Basketball Recap: Centralia Comes Up Short

Centralia played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Black Hills Wolves, falling 55-35. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now lost five in a row.

Leading Black Hills to victory were Ellie Johnson and Natalie Buchanan. Johnson almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, while Buchanan dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Buchanan a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Megan Dolby, who posted eight points.

Centralia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Black Hills, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Centralia Tigers challenge the WF West Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. WF West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Black Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Aberdeen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Black Hills is facing Aberdeen at the right time seeing as Aberdeen is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
