Basketball Recap: Otis Piles Up the Points Against Bethune

There's no place like home for Otis, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bethune Bobcats 54-23. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Otis was led to victory by Aedyn Tribelhorn and Madelyn Willeke. Tribelhorn almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine steals, while Willeke dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Tribelhorn a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Layce Perry, who posted five points and eight steals.

Otis' win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for Bethune, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Otis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-36 defeat against Fleming on the 11th. As for Bethune, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 40-30 victory against Miami-Yoder on the 11th.
