Baseball Recap: Rubidoux Takes a Loss

Rubidoux extended their losing streak to 14 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-19 in the process. They lost 23-2 to the Ramona Rams. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-3 defeat on Tuesday.

Rubidoux saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilio Jimenez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Ramona, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-12-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Ramona's side, Evan Montoya looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Montoya has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ramona let Kody Shinar and Michael Shanahan run wild. Shinar went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Shanahan went 4-for-3 with four runs and two RBI. Those four hits gave Shanahan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Rahner, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Rubidoux has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against La Sierra on the 5th. As for Ramona, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Patriot on the 5th.
