Soccer Game Preview: Virginia High vs. Lebanon

The Virginia High Bearcats will head out on the road to challenge the Lebanon Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Virginia High came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Graham, falling 6-0. The defeat continues a trend for Virginia High in their meetings with Graham: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Lebanon can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Tazewell a 3-0 shutout. Considering Lebanon have won seven games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win got Lebanon back to even at 8-8-1. As for Virginia High, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Virginia High skirted past Lebanon 2-1 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
