            Softball Recap: Walnut Wildcats vs. Union Yellowjackets        
        
		
        
        
            Union hit Walnut with a five-run third inning  on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats fell  10-6 to the Yellowjackets. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost four in a row.
 Brittan Dawkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and six unearned) runs on nine hits.
 On the hitting side,  Baylee Spight made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with three  runs.
Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Union, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record  this season.
 Walnut does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union, they will face off against Calhoun City at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
