Football Recap: Benjamin Franklin Chargers vs. Dysart Demons

Benjamin Franklin took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Dysart Demons, posting a 49-10 victory.

Benjamin Franklin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Wyler led the charge by throwing for 286 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punching in one rushing score. Landon Stetka helped Wyler out on the ground, rushing for 59 yards and four scores.

Benjamin Franklin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ty Sather and Talan Speir.

Jevon Christmas and Donovan Hinchey certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Christmas rushed for 95 yards on only ten carries, while Hinchey picked up 16 receiving yards and one TD.

Coming up, Benjamin Franklin will challenge River Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dysart, they will square off against San Tan Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
