Baseball Recap: Augusta Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Augusta took on Calvary Christian on Saturday. Augusta fell 6-3 to Calvary Christian. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Maddox Hesler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Augusta is 2-1 when Hesler posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Jesse Deiter also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Calvary Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Augusta will host Nicholas County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Calvary Christian, they will face off against Campbell County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
