Volleyball Recap: Laurel Falls to Wise in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Laurel kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Wise Pumas, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Laurel was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-6.

The win was the third in a row for Wise, bringing their record up to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Laurel is set to take on their familiar foe Eleanor Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Wise will challenge rival Suitland at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
