Baseball Recap: Pleasant Grove Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against American Fork, Pleasant Grove was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Lehi Pioneers 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since April 2nd.

Keaton Nordick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, R.J. Wilson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. C.J. Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Pleasant Grove hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

Pleasant Grove's record is now 17-3. As for Lehi, they dropped their record down to 11-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Pleasant Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pioneers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
