Volleyball Game Preview: Spring Valley Timberwolves vs. Charleston Catholic Irish

The Spring Valley Timberwolves will venture away from home to square off against the Charleston Catholic Irish at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Valley will be strutting in after a win while Charleston Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

Spring Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Winfield, who was ranked tenth at the time (Spring Valley was ranked eighth). The Timberwolves walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Generals on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Timberwolves.

Spring Valley never let Winfield on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23.

Addison Bailey and Katie Dowis were among the main playmakers for Spring Valley as the former had eight digs and one assist and the latter had seven digs. That's the most digs Bailey has posted over her last nine matches.

Meanwhile, Charleston Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Winfield on Saturday and fell 2-1. The Irish haven't had much luck with the Generals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Spring Valley's win bumped their record up to 24-9-5. As for Charleston Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 24-6-1.
