Basketball Recap: Hueneme Triumphs

Hueneme's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 64-51 win over the Del Sol Jaguars.

Sebastian Juarez was nothing short of spectacular: he shot 50% from the field on his way to 22 points and three steals. What's more, he also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Tai Yson was another key player, going 6-for-8 to rack up 13 points and four steals.

Del Sol lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mike Garcia, who shot 63% from the field en route to 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Andrade, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 10 points.

The victory got Hueneme back to even at 1-1. As for Del Sol, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Hueneme will take on Oxnard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Del Sol, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grace at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
