Basketball Recap: Aspen's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

If Delta wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Aspen, they should've done a better job of containing Jack Berro. The Aspen Skiers came out on top against the Delta Panthers by a score of 50-43 on Saturday thanks in part to Berro, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Delta's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JP Gallegos, who posted 20 points. Erik Baier was another key player, putting up seven points and 13 rebounds.

The win (which was Aspen's seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Delta, their record now sits at 6-9.

When Aspen and Delta next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Aspen will challenge Roaring Fork and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Delta will try to stop Steamboat Springs' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
