Football Recap: Malquan Pimentel and Malachi Mitchell Lead the Defense for Ashley Ridge Win

Ashley Ridge and Wando pushed the score to 56-17 the last time they played Wando, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Swamp Foxes were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over the Warriors. The victory continues a trend for the Swamp Foxes in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Ashley Ridge can attribute much of their success to Trevor Kalisz, who rushed for 35 yards and one score, and also threw for 136 yards and one TD. 101 of those passing yards were hauled in by Jagger Spivey.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ashley Ridge's defense and their nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Malquan Pimentel and Malachi Mitchell, who racked up five sacks between them. Mitchell has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last eight times he's played. Ashley Ridge got some further help from MJ Respass: he picked up a sack, made seven total tackles, and defended one pass.
