Basketball Preview: Blanco Panthers vs. Marion Bulldogs
Having just played yesterday, the Blanco Panthers will jump right back in to play the Marion Bulldogs at 7:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Blanco and four for Marion.
Blanco's tournament run continued when they took on Long Creek on Thursday. Blanco fell 38-25 to Long Creek.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ashton Uballe, who earned eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Boyd, who posted eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, a win for Marion just wasn't in the cards on Tuesday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They came up short against Devine, falling 62-40.
Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Blanco, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Blanco took their victory against Marion when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 55-30. Does Blanco have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marion turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
