Softball Recap: Mcgraw Wins Going Away Against Cortland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McGraw). They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Cortland Purple Tigers on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Bristol Eastman was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Remington Stull, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

McGraw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

McGraw is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Cortland, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McGraw will host Madison Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cortland, they will face off against Mexico at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
