Softball Recap: Alhambra Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Alhambra's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Northgate Broncos by a score of 6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in April.

Willa Adler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Genevieve Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Juliana Carranza, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Alhambra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Alhambra is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Northgate, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
