Soccer Recap: Southwest Edgecombe Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

SouthWest Edgecombe had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Holmes Aces on Tuesday, falling 4-1. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but SouthWest Edgecombe couldn't quite close it out.

The win was the third in a row for Holmes, bringing their record up to 3-2.

SouthWest Edgecombe wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Rocky Mount on the 27th. As for Holmes, they will face off against Albemarle School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
