Flag Football Recap: Sunrise Mountain Takes a Loss

Sunrise Mountain extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were outmatched by the Canyon View Jaguars and fell 28-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 32-0 on Saturday.

Ingrid Sandoval threw for 44 yards on 12 of 26 attempts. Addison Pruetz was her top target, picking up 27 receiving yards.

As for Canyon View, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.9 points on average over those games.

Canyon View found their leader in freshman Nataley Laing, who threw for 177 yards and three TDs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunrise Mountain will take on Horizon at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Canyon View, they will challenge Fairfax at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. The Stampede's defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Jaguars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
