Lakeland dropped their record down to 11-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Jasper Eagles by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Jasper, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games.

For Jasper's part, Treyton Ritchhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. Ritchhart has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jasper saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trace Lehman, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland will host Weaubleau at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jasper, they will face off against Appleton City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
