Volleyball Recap: La Vega Takes a Loss + How To Watch

La Vega was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Connally Cadets. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cadets earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While La Vega was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Damice Burns and Peighton Dancer, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Ce'Maria Kelly and her 13 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

La Vega's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Connally, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 12-24.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. La Vega is set to take on their familiar foe Robinson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Connally will challenge rival Lorena at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
