Softball Recap: Buffalo Triumphs

After losing to Groesbeck the last time they met, Buffalo decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Buffalo came out on top in a nail-biter against Groesbeck on Tuesday, sneaking past 18-16. With that win, the Bison brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Izzie Stone, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3.7 RBI per game. Kaylee Rodriguez was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

Stone wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Buffalo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February.

The victory made it two in a row for Buffalo and bumps their season record up to 8-10. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Groesbeck, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Buffalo will face off against Teague at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buffalo is facing Teague at the right time seeing as Teague is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Groesbeck, they will host Elkhart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Groesbeck's pitchers better be ready for this one: Elkhart has averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season.
