Basketball Recap: Stone Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Stone entered their tilt with Purvis on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Tornadoes 67-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 65-48 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stone to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jabari Moye, who went 11-for-22 on his way to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Moye has scored at least a third of the Tomcats' points. Another player making a difference was Cleon Johnson Jr., who shot 64% from the field to rack up 20 points and five assists.

Stone smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2025.

The victory got Stone back to even at 13-13. As for Purvis, they dropped their record down to 7-16 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
