Basketball Game Preview: Ocean Lakes Dolphins vs. Salem Sundevils

Ocean Lakes is 0-10 against Salem since December of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Ocean Lakes Dolphins will head out to face off against the Salem Sundevils at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Ocean Lakes is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 23rd straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 83-37 loss at the hands of Kempsville. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Chiefs are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, Salem was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 59-53 to Kellam.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Ocean Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Ocean Lakes took a serious blow against Salem in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 76-27. Can Ocean Lakes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
