Basketball Recap: Sky View Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Sky View entered their tilt with West Field on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 52-45 win over the West Field Longhorns. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Longhorns are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sky View had a senior duo take command as Mya Eskelson posted 19 points and five rebounds and Kaitlyn Schumann went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schumann has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Fischer, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards.

Despite the loss, West Field still got an impressive performance from Jalyn Coombs, who had 19 points. Another player making a difference was Canyon Britt, who put up nine points.

Sky View pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for West Field, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Sky View didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-47 win against Mountain Crest on the 9th. As for West Field, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 80-16 victory against Logan on the 9th.
