Carver can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 22-19 victory over the Englewood Stem Panthers. The Challengers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Carver to victory were Journee Eggleston and Kennedy Wingfield. Eggleston posted nine points, while Wingfield had eight points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wingfield has scored at least a third of Carver's points.

Carver's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Englewood Stem, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Carver will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chicago Vocational at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Carver's offense hasn't had much luck over their past five contests, but Wednesday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.
