Baseball Recap: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Concord Bears
Mt. Diablo had lost nine straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-19 to make it ten. They came up short against the Concord Bears, falling 15-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2018.
As for Concord, they moved to 7-15 with that victory, which also ended their 11-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Concord's part, they got a massive performance out of Aaron Hunt, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Hunt has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Damian Kochaphum, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
While Mt. Diablo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
