Soccer Game Preview: Sultana vs. Serrano

The Sultana Sultans will head out on the road to face off against the Serrano Diamondbacks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Thursday, Sultana came up short against Oak Hills and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Sultans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 546th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 131st).

Sultana's goal came courtesy of Cissy Men, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Serrano's offense. They lost 4-0 to Apple Valley on Thursday. The Diamondbacks haven't had much luck with the Sun Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Sultana's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Serrano, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2.

Sultana skirted past Serrano 1-0 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Does Sultana have another victory up their sleeve, or will Serrano turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
